About this basket
A shallow willow trug, woven in four different finishes so you can pick the one that suits your kitchen, hallway or garden shed. The body is woven low and wide over a solid willow base, with a plaited border round the top and a single arched handle. Handwoven in Lithuania.
Good for
A week of vegetables from the market, an armful of apples from the garden, or mushrooms from the forest floor; indoors it settles onto a shelf for bread and jars, or by the door for gloves and secateurs.
Why it lasts
The shallow, wide shape keeps produce lying side by side instead of piling up, and the arched handle is twisted from several rods and bound into the sides.
