About this basket
A golden willow firewood trug, 74 cm long, with a darker band around the base and a sturdy twisted handle. Deep boat shape, woven in our family workshop — as much a piece of the room as a working basket.
Good for
Firewood stacked by the fireplace, the day's harvest from the garden, long-stemmed flowers, or blankets in a hallway.
Why it lasts
Raised ends and a low centre keep a heavy load balanced when you lift it by the handle. Solid willow all the way through, no plastic core.
